The Hi-Opt I Count

Hi-Opt I tags only 3–6 (+1) and tens (−1). Aces, 2s, and 7–9 are all zero. Fewer cards move the number than in Hi-Lo, which makes it the easiest balanced count to keep. The cost is betting accuracy, which the ace side count restores when you add it.

It suits players who want a balanced count with the least mental load, and it leads naturally to Hi-Opt II. Bankroll, game selection, and cover are in the Card Counting course.
